DAY 1 – ARRIVAL
IN MAUN AIRPORT
Maun: First day of
arrival in Maun our professional guide will be waiting to pick you from the airport
to the hotel. Depending on your time of arrival you will enjoy your lunch or
dinner in the hotel. While in the hotel we will introduce you to our team
consisting of our professional guide, chef, camp hand and have a brief
discussion of the itinerary, on what to expect and not to expect. Depending on
the time of arrival you have the option of going to town to do shopping if
necessary; we will be there to assist you.
2 MAUN TO THE OKAVANGO DELTA
The Okavango Delta is a vast inland river delta in northern
Botswana. It’s known for its sprawling grassy plains, which flood seasonally,
becoming a lush animal habitat. The Moremi Game Reserve occupies the east and
central areas of the region. Here, dugout canoes are used to navigate past
hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and more aquatic animals.
Maun to the delta is about an hour drive then you meet the local polers mokoro waiting for you, introduction, get into the mokoro then flow slowly on top of the waterways, good atmosphere bird watching is excellent. Arrive late to the camp spot, dinner and go under canvas.
DAY 3 – OKAVANGO DELTA
Early breakfast followed by Island walks, explore the delta by foot, learn a bit of tracking from the guides. Arrive late to the camp spot, introduction on the destination by your poler guide.
DAY 4 OKAVANGO DELTA TO MOREMI
Wake-up early, pack breakfast and lunch as you head to Moremi Game Reserve which is about 3-4 hours depending on what to see on your way there. Arrive late to the camp spot, find cam already set siesta, shower, and dinner and share your daily experience around the fire with your professional safari guide.
DAY 5 – MOREMI GAME RESERVE
Full day game drives, your chance to see the big five if you are lucky. The boat cruise is possible here if you opt and is the best experience to go deep in the delta through the boat.
DAY 6 MOREMI GAE RESERVE
Half-day game dives return earlier to your camp spot, have time to pack and get ready to move to the next destination the next day.
DAY 7 – MOREMI TO KHWAI
2 hours boat cruise if you opt before heading out to Khwai.Game view on transit, arrive late and find your camp already set.
DAY 8 KHWAI
We wake up early in the morning for the game drive in Khwai Concession area. The Khwai Village is rich in habitat and wildlife. The animals are attracted to the narrow ribbon of water that is the Khwai River and this provides for some spectacular wildlife viewing. This is an area where lion and leopard may be seen. There is a healthy population of plains game, including kudu, impala, wild dogs, giraffe and zebra. On our way from the drive, we will have to enjoy our brunch and rest in the camping site. Later in the evening, we do evening drive, off road for best photo shooting.
DAY 9 KHWAI COMMUNITY RESERVE TO SAVUTI
We wake up early
in the morning and drive to the Savuti which is about 4-5 hours’ drive
depending on what to see on the way. We expect to see elephants, leopards,

10 – SAVUTI
Full day game drives, explore the Savuti Marsh. Back to the camp in the evening, siesta, shower, dinner and a good night sleep under canvas. The highlights of Savuti will be the Savuti marsh where there is an abundance of wildlife roaming around and the world-renowned Lions of Savuti. Later on, after the even drive, we can retire to our camping sites and where we will find our chef and camp hand, ready with the dinner and the tents erect.
11 – SAVUTI TO CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Transit to Chobe National park, we expect to see a lot of elephants and lots of elephants, Chobe national park has one of the world’s largest elephant populations. Upon arrival a game drive will be conducted/ riverfront). The drive from Savuti to Chobe will bumpy but so a natural massage is guaranteed along the way while viewing the amazing landscapes and animals along the way.
12 CHOBE NATIONAL PARK TO VICTORIA FALLS
After our morning breakfast final (game drive)… we drive to the Victoria Falls. All activities in Victoria Falls are optional and excluded from the price. BUT we can make arrangement for them on request for free. You have the option of gorge swing, white water rafting, full-day canoe, 13 minutes helicopter, 3-hour bike tour, half-day adrenaline. Once we are done will the activities we drive back to the lodge. This would be our last day of the tour. Arrangements for the airport drop will be done at the lodge depending on our flight times.
13 – VICTORIA FALLS
Full day at Vic falls, a lot of activities to opt on like buggy jumpy, devils pool, elephant ride, river cruise.
14 – VICTORIA FALLS
Drop off to the

Rates published here should be used as a general guide for safaris over 7 days, as your final quote will be based on the number of days, parks visited and km travelled in customized itinerary that you design. Prices vary slightly from itinerary to itinerary due to driving distances and differences in the entry fees that national parks and community-run conservations charge us.
We offer two different kinds of safaris,
full-service and participation so that we meet the preferences of all our
guests. If you’re looking for maximum relaxation and being totally focused on
the safari, OPT for the full-service option. If you are the outdoorsy type
that thinks that setting up camp and helping out can be fun and part of the
experience, then our participation camping safari is for you!
Services of a professional guide, a safari chef and camp assistants, Camp set
up in advance by our staff, spacious tented accommodation, including beds, bed
linen and towels, with private en-suite bathroom, all meals cooked by safari
chef on open fire, all cleanup and camp duties taken care of by our staff.

A non-refundable 40 % deposit is required for confirmation of booking within 10 days or else the booking will be taken as a provisional only, with the possible failure to reinstate the reservation. Balance of payment must be made a month before the departure of the safari, otherwise booking will be deemed as cancelled and the deposit will be forfeited.

After confirmation, 40% deposit has been paid and booking is taken as confirmed. When clients cancel a month prior to the commencement of the safari then 60% of the total safari cost is forfeited.
precautions: When travelling to Botswana you need to take Prophylaxis. African
Jacana Safaris ensures that their client’s health and safety are in good hands
at all times. We advise our clients to take Prophylaxis medication.
Climate: Botswana’s climate is semi-arid. We advise our clients when visiting Botswana, to expect hot weather most of the time so they should bring themselves sun protector creams as well as sunglasses to avoid any health hazards. Keep in mind that we have hash winter beginning the month of May and August ending, so we advise our clients to bring warm clothing to keep them warm. African Jacana Safaris use open vehicles for the game drives which are covered from the top to protect our clients from direct sun heat.
